NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville police investigated an armed robbery at a South Nashville gas station that's been robbed three times in three weeks.
According to police, two gunmen went into the Shell station on Vultee Boulevard at about 12:30a.m. Thursday.
The first suspect threatened to shoot a woman if she didn't give up her wallet. Police said the suspect forced her to get on the floor.
Officers said the second suspect pointed a gun at the clerk and stole money from the register, then took boxes of cigarillos.
Investigators released a surveillance picture showing the second suspect pointing a gun at the clerk. Both men had their faces covered, police said.
Officers brought out K9's to try to find the two gunmen. The K9 lost the scent of the suspects not far from the business, where police said they believe a getaway car must have been parked.
This is the third time in three weeks that this Shell gas station has been robbed at gunpoint. It was previously robbed on June 7th and June 13th. Investigators said they are looking into the possibility that the three robberies are connected.
