Officials confirmed a Cheatham County woman was arrested and charged in the death of her mother.
The body of 80-year-old Otylier Callens was found on September 8, 2010 inside her home on Ryan Street in Hardin County.
Authorities with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they worked with investigators from the Savannah Police Department and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department.
The homicide investigation led to the arrest of Callens’ daughter, 67-year-old Patsy Lynn Shelby, of Ashland City.
Shelby was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, nearly eight years after the death. She was booked into the Cheatham County Jail and charged with one count of first degree murder.
Authorities confirmed additional arrests have been anticipated.
