WATERTOWN, Tenn. – An updated mold assessment issue released found no dangerous pathogens in Watertown Elementary School.
Concerns grew when parents were upset about not being notified about initial mold testing.
The mold was discovered after a thunderstorm in July. A lightning bolt struck the HVAC unit causing humidity to grow and cultivate mold.
Even though school officials insisted that the building was safe, they moved students to another building.
Still under a clean-up plan, the Annex building will get a deep cleaning and new HVAC systems will be installed.
Crews will remove all old ceiling tiles and rooms will be painted.
