NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro police said a man was killed in a fiery crash on the westbound entrance ramp from Interstate 440 to Interstate 65.
The crash was reported around 5:40 a.m. Thursday at Exit 5.
Officer said a 49-year-old man was driving onto the ramp when the car, for unknown reasons, left the roadway and crashed down a ravine, hitting several trees on the way. The car then caught fire. The man, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene.
The westbound exit ramp was closed for hours but has since reopened.
