Two people were injured after shots rang out in the parking lot of a Nashville Kroger.
Police responded to a reported shootout between two vehicles in the parking lot of the Kroger on East Thompson Lane Thursday afternoon.
According to Metro Nashville Police officials, two victims were dropped off at Southern Hills Hospital with gunshot wounds. The two men were brothers 22-year-old Marquel Peoples and 25-year-old DeMarko Peoples.
Witnesses reported that a person(s) in a dark colored pickup truck pulled up and opened fire on Marquel People’s car. The truck then drove off as the people in car shot back. Those that were in the car then got into a white sedan and left the scene.
It wasn't long until Marquel and DeMarko Peoples were dropped off at the hospital. Police said they have not been forthcoming with information, other than that they were shot in the parking lot.
A gun and a baggie containing a white powder were found in the car the Peoples abandoned in the parking lot. The investigation is continuing.
