NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — At least five people, including a juvenile, were rushed to the hospital after a drive-by shooting in East Nashville Thursday morning.
The shooting happened at about 1 am near the intersection of Sylvan and South 7th Streets.
Detectives told NewsChannel 5 shots were fired from a vehicle similar to a black Chevy pick-up truck. Witnesses said there were eight or nine people in the truck at the time, most of them in the bed of the truck.
Officers said people, cars and homes were hit by bullets.
NewsChannel 5 counted roughly more than 100 evidence markers at the scene, most of them documenting shell casing that were on the ground.
At this point, investigators don’t have an exact count on how many people were shot. However, the NewsChannel 5 crew at the scene saw three people taken away in ambulances.
Officers are looking at surveillance video to see if cameras caught anything that can help lead them to the shooters.
