It was a deadly morning on roads in Middle Tennessee Sunday morning. There were three separate deadly crashes in three different counties all within a few hours of each other.
The first wreck happened at 1:55 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 840. Both lanes were shut down west of mile marker 28 for hours while crews investigated.
The second wreck happened at 3:30 a.m. in Wilson County. THP shut down I-40 East near mile marker 231 between the Beckwith Road and Highway 109 exits. The interstate reopened around 5:00 a.m.
Then, at 4:00 a.m., two cars crashed on Highway 12 just south of Clarksville in Montgomery County. At least three people were killed and a fourth victim was taken to the hospital. Highway 12 was shut down at Robin Hill Road. The road was expected to reopen at 9:00 a.m.
