An AT&T service outage has affected calls to 911, and officials have urged callers to use other lines to make calls.

Customers received a text message from the company alerting them to the issue.
According to reports, the outage is nationwide and Tennessee is not the only state experiencing the problem.
If your emergency call does not go through to a dispatcher or law enforcement agency, try another line.
