Attempted Child Abduction Reported In Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Police have been searching for information and a possible suspect after reports of an attempted child abduction in Clarksville.

Authorities said a 7-year-old girl and a 9-year-old girl were reportedly approached by a man in a truck who asked them personal questions before trying to grab one of the girls.

The incident happened around noon Saturday on Wakefield Drive, and police said the man reportedly let the girl go when she started screaming for help.

He sped away and turned onto West Mor Drive.

The man was reportedly armed with a black handgun. Witnesses described his light brown pickup truck to police saying it had a matching shell camper that was the same height as the cab.

It also had a Titans football emblem on the back window of the camper and a sticker of an eagle emblem, as well.

Anyone with information has been asked to call 911.
