Attempted homicide victim found severely injured along highway in Humphreys Co.

HUMPHREYS COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — The victim of an attempted homicide was found in a ditch along Highway 70 near the Humphreys/Dickson County line.

Humphreys County Sheriff's officials say the young man was found partially clothed, semi-conscious in a very critical medical situation. He was transported to the hospital where he remains in critical condition with multiple severe injuries.

Officials say he is believed to have been in the ditch for several hours before a passer-by spotted the man and called 9-1-1.

Detectives are treating the incident as an attempted criminal homicide. They are searching for the victim’s pickup truck saying it may help in their investigation. The vehicle is a 2005 Silver Toyota Tundra, TN license tag number 1545VU.

The sheriff said the victim’s family is seeking answers and asked for the public's help in their investigation. Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area on Mon., Jan. 11, or has information on the case was asked to call the Sheriff’s Office and speak with a Detective at 931-296-2301 Ext 100.
