NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Well known middle Tennessee attorney Fletcher Long is schedule to be sentenced Wednesday. He was convicted by a jury last month in an extortion case out of Clarksville.
Long confirmed earlier this week he will ask for a new trial.
Long told NewsChannel 5 that one of the 12 jurors on his case came forward to say she was intimidated into reaching the guilty verdict and that some jurors had made up their minds before deliberations even began. That juror signed an affidavit and Long said his attorney will use that to ask for a mistrial.
No word yet on when that motion will be heard.
