CENTERVILLE, Tenn. – Deputies and detectives said they were actively investigating after an inmate escaped from jail in Hickman County.
Officials said they conducted a check of inmates around 1:16 a.m. Friday and noticed 25-year-old Cody Ryan Bates was missing.
Bates had allegedly forced open a gate and escaped. He was last seen wearing dark clothing at the Hickman County Justice Center.
The Hickman County Sheriff’s Office responded to investigate, and K-9 officers were brought in to assist.
Deputies said Bates was being held for evading arrest, motor vehicle charges, and violation of parole, plus he had outstanding warrants in Dickson County.
Officials asked anyone who may know of Bates’ location to call the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office or 911 instead of approaching him. Authorities were not considering him armed and dangerous.
