Babysitter Charged In Death Of Toddler She Was Watching

A Sumner County babysitter was arrested and charged in the death of a toddler she was caring for in Gallatin.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents and the Sumner County Sheriff's Office began investigating Kayla Pauze on March 27.

According to investigators, Pauze inflicted an injury on 2-year-old Aiden Hale of Gallatin while watching him on the 26th.

The boy was sent to the hospital where his condition worsened. He later died in the hospital from his injuries on the 29th.

On May 8, the Sumner County Grand Jury returned indictments charging 25-year-old Kayla Nicole Pauze with one count of aggravated child abuse and one count of first degree murder.

On Tuesday, Pauze was arrested and booked into the Sumner County Jail, where she was being held without bond.
