A barge operator found a body in the Cumberland River in West Nashville late Sunday night.
According to Metro Police, the body was found in the water near Robertson Avenue just before midnight.
Nashville firefighters were able to recover the body, bringing it to the shore near Cleeces Ferry Road.
At this point, the person has not been identified. Work begins now to figure out how the person died.
