The American Red Cross held an awards ceremony for the local fire and law enforcement personnel that rolled up their sleeves for the Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.

On Wednesday, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office was once again named the winner.

Sheriff Daron Hall made it clear that while winning was a priority, the goal was to encourage as many blood donations as possible to help those who need it.

In all, the three agencies donated more than 600 pints of blood saving roughly 2,000 lives. The one day Battle of the Badges event at Nissan Stadium generated a total of 667 pints of blood for the Red Cross.
