NASHVILLE, Tenn. — If you need a sweet fix, you're in luck. Nearly 2 million Girl Scout Cookies are now on sale in Middle Tennessee.

"This is a lot of cookies," Dawn Rhodes said while looking around at thousands of cookies on wood pallets.

Rhodes is with Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee. On Friday, she helped as 700,000 packages of cookies were doled out to troop leaders from around the area.

"They don't have to leave their cars. They don't have to do any heavy lifting. This is to show our appreciate for what they're doing," Rhodes said.

At the massive distribution event, hundreds of cars filed under a pavilion to pick up cookie orders. The cars were driven by troop leaders and other volunteers.

"It's very well organized... it's a well-oiled machine," Rhodes said.

Girl Scout Helina Butler helped pack trucks, trailers, U-Hauls and vans with cookies.

"We do assembly lines... and we just throw them at each other," Butler said.

If you did not pre-order cookies, they are on sale at booths across the Mid-State. Find the sale closest to you here. Cookie sales end March 1.
