Black Music Honors is back in Nashville for the second year in a row.

Earlier Friday, singer-songwriter Avery Sunshine stopped by Talk of The Town to discuss Friday night's performance.

She along with other featured performers took the stage at TPAC Friday night to honor such legends as gospel Singer Donnie McClurkin, soul singer Oleta Adams, and the legendary Jackson's.

The cohost of the event was singer LeToya Luckett. The concert was a ticketed event.

Black Music Honors has been set to benefit the National Museum Of African American Music, which will open its doors in 2019.

The museum will be the only one dedicated to preserving the legacy and celebrating the accomplishments of African Americans in music, including multiple genres.

The performances were recorded Friday night to air at a later date.
