Investigators with the Metro Nashville Police Department have asked for the public's help in finding the driver responsible for a hit and run that critically injured a blind man.

Officials said David A. Lloyd was in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center Tuesday.

He was injured in a hit & run crash Monday night at the intersection of McGavock Pike & Lebanon Pike.

Investigators said 55-year-old Lloyd is legally blind, and was hit while crossing McGavock Pike from west to east outside of a crosswalk.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. No witnesses to the actual collision were located.

The vehicle was presumed to be black, based on a large black driver’s side mirror being found at the crash site.

The make and model of the vehicle has not been confirmed.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or its driver was asked to call the Emergency Communications Center at 615-862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
