To honor and remember a fallen Angel, a Blue Angel F/A-18C Hornet was installed at a memorial site for Captain Jeff Kuss.

The 21,000 pound jet is the centerpiece of the memorial, which was created by Smyrna officials and residents.

It's in honor of Captain Kuss, a decorated pilot who lost his life while practicing for the Great American Air Show in Smyrna on June 2, 2016.

The official dedication ceremony to honor the late 32-year-old will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 9.

Everyone has been invited to attend, and they have asked visitors to bring their own chairs and wear patriotic attire and gear.

Contributions can still be made to the memorial. To learn more, visit the website.
