NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A documentary profiling Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe is making its big-screen debut at this year’s SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas.
At 90-minutes, the film “Bluebird: The Movie” will showcase the venue’s history. The film also features performances by Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks, Maren Morris, Vince Gill, Jason Isbell – among others.
Founder Amy Kurland opened the cafe in 1982 to follow her culinary dreams. But she soon added a stage – and the rest is history.
Kurland says she had no idea it would become one of, if not the most influential listening rooms in the country.
The film’s producers are working to distribute the documentary to a wider audience after this weekend’s premiere. Click here for more information.
