NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Some of country's top artists and songwriters were at BMI this evening to honor the best songs of the last year and some legends.
The red carpet was filled with folks like Luke Combs, Chris Young, and members of the Highwomen.
And while it was about shining a light the songwriters, the biggest honor of the night went to Dwight Yoakam.
He was awarded the BMI President's Award, and Jesse Knutson spoke with him on the carpet about how much of an honor it is to get this award, and any accolade from BMI.
Awards week culminates with the CMA Awards Wednesday. NewsChannel 5's own Carrie Sharp and Jesse Knutson will be on the red carpet throughout the evening.
