The Cumberland River can make for a great place to watch the Nashville fireworks show, but there were just as many rules on the water this year as they were on land.
The closest place to drop your boat in is at the Shelby Park ramp.
You also want to make sure you have a VHF Marine radio as well as ample food and drink because there is no access to shore in the downtown Nashville area.
Boaters may also want extra bulbs for your navigation and anchor lights because it will be dark on your way home.
This year, during the fireworks show a boating safety zone will be enforced.
It spans from the Korean Veteran's Bridge to the Woodland Street Bridge, which means no stopping or anchoring in that area.
There will be designated safe anchorage areas that are good for stopping and hanging out.
