Metro Nashville Police detectives have identified a homicide victim found in a South Nashville Field.
Officials said 19-year-old Alejandro Potter Alvarado of Wallace Road was found Wednesday morning in a field at 14656 Old Hickory Boulevard.
Alvarado’s mother called police Thursday morning to report him as a missing person. She told police she had last seen him walking from their Wallace Road home at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Detectives have begun working to identify Alvarado’s friends and acquaintances as they attempt to establish a motive for his murder.
Alvarado was arrested on a felony marijuana charge in November. The case was dismissed in General Sessions Court last month.
They asked anyone with information on Alvarado’s background to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
Spanish speaking operators are available by called the South Precinct at 615-862-7744, and asking to speak to a Spanish speaking officer.
