NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The man killed in what police believe was a hit and run on Interstate 40 in Nashville has been identified.
Police said 45-year-old Mark A. Johnson may have been crossing the interstate from Hermitage Avenue when he was hit by an unknown vehicle at exit 211 near Interstate 24.
A passing semi truck driver saw the body on the side of the road and called 911.
Police believe the man had been there for a while, possibly since overnight.
The investigation blocked one lane of I-40 West on Thursday morning.
