Crews have responded to the scene of a body found in the Cumberland River near Riverfront Park in Nashville.
It was discovered Monday around 4:30 p.m.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said a boat operator found the man's body floating on the west side of the river.
Police said there were no obvious signs of trauma, but the body had suffered a great deal of decomposition.
The person's identification, and cause of death were unknown. Police said an autopsy will be conducted.
