BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WTVF) — People are taking precautions to help slow the spread of the new coronavirus including going into quarantine. For the elderly residents at the assisted living facility, The Harmony In Brentwood, the distance is critical. It was placed on lockdown as a precaution.

Brentwood musician David DeLoach's mother lives there. DeLoach didn't want her to feel alone during this trying time so he got creative on how to see her, singing and playing guitar to her from outside, at least 40 feet away.

As he played, other elderly residents joined from their balcony as well.

"I can't underestimate the power of music in a time like this," DeLoach said, "there's a lot of stress right now and fear and there's something god put into music that when you sing it changes things it does."

DeLoach says he will continue going back as much as he can to play, because he believes music can get us through anything.
