BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Brentwood police officer was injured overnight while trying to stop a stolen vehicle.

Brentwood police said officers were called to an area of Fountainhead Drive after a resident reported seeing a suspicious vehicle.

Police got to the scene and found a black Honda CRV, which fled at a high rate of speed.

Spike strips were deployed at the intersection near Franklin Road, which caused the driver of the suspect vehicle to swerve and hit a police vehicle. The impact of that crash caused the cruiser to hit Officer Brien Fletcher, who was on foot nearby.

He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect vehicle got away and hasn’t been found. It’s a 2017 model with Tennessee tag FW8348 and had been stolen out of Nolensville.

Police are looking for two suspects in the case.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Brentwood Police Department at (615)371-0160, bpdtips@brentwoodtn.gov or Williamson County Crime Stoppers at (615)794-4000.
