BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WTVF) — Brentwood Police officials are investigating a scam targeting a church in the area.

Officials say the scammers are using fake email accounts that look like they're from actual church pastors in town.

The emails are sent to staff members asking them to purchase multiple Amazon gift cards so the pastor can "bless the staff."

However, before any money was given, the staff member texted the actual pastor and learned it was not a real email.
