Only one shooting occurred in Brentwood last year, but in 2018 police have investigated three, which all took place within a span of about two weeks.

It's a significant increase, but becomes an even more unusual spike when the dates of the incidents are taken into consideration.

  • June 21, 2017 - I-65 road rage incident where a suspect fired a gunshot at another driver. There were no injuries.
  • November 18, 2018 - Mapco at 158 Franklin Road. Clerk shot during attempted robbery. Clerk survived and has been released from the hospital.
  • November 20, 2018 - 28 Governors Way. Domestic incident between husband and wife. Husband stabbed wife and her Father and was subsequently shot and killed by the Father in Law. Wife died at hospital.
  • December 3, 2018 - Drive-by shooting at 1426 Dozier Court. Suspect shot at residence from cul-de-sac and struck victim inside who was killed.

Police are still searching for the suspect involved in the drive-by shooting on Dozier Court. Anyone with information was asked to call police at 615-371-0160.
