Williamson County school officials have opened their doors to certain students outside of the county in hopes of solving a school bus driver shortage.
Monday night, board members approved a 1-year pilot program.
The county has been suffering from a bus driver shortage since school began. Parents and students have complained about busses being more than half an hour late or just not showing up.
The program will allow any parent willing to take a job as a school bus driver to enroll their child in a Williamson County school regardless of where they live.
