NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A bystander was shot in a Bordeaux neighborhood after he got caught in the crossfire of an altercation among at least three people.

The incident happened around 6 a.m. Tuesday in a residential area along Dove Place.

Officials with Metro police said two suspects apparently got into an argument, at which point a neighbor came outside to intervene.

At that time, one of the suspects pulled a gun. The neighbor, who is a security guard, was also armed.

Shots were fired and an innocent bystander was struck in the leg.

First responders were called to the scene and loaded the man into ambulance. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. His identity was not known.

According to police, the initial suspects fled the scene on foot.

The security guard, who's name was not yet known, did not have a carry permit. His weapon was collected at the scene as evidence.

Investigators said another person connected to the incident was apparently grazed by a bullet and went to an area hospital. They are working to determine who was responsible for the shooting.

No charges have been filed at this time. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
