NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A manhunt continues in Nashville after a carjacking suspect crashed into a Metro patrol car overnight. Two others are also being sought in the case.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. Thursday on Old Hickory Boulevard in Brentwood.

A Metro officer was transporting a woman to jail when a BMW struck them, not far from Interstate 65.

Just a short time before, three suspects robbed a man at gunpoint on Huntington Parkway, not far from Edmondson Pike, and stole his silver BMW.

The driver of the stolen car struck the Metro police officer as he was turning onto I-65 North. That suspect got out of the car and ran away on foot.

The other two suspects sped off from the scene in another car. Police quickly brought out K9 officers and a helicopter to search for the suspects.

The Metro officer was not hurt, however, the woman he was transporting suffered a broken arm. She was taken to an area hospital.

The descriptions of the suspects are vague because they were all wearing ski masks at the time of the incidents.

Officers have stepped up patrols in the area and have asked that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers 615-74-CRIME.
