In Pleasant View, neighbors held a ceremony at their newly-erected veterans memorial.
Pleasant View Elementary School hosted their 3rd annual Veterans Day event at the memorial Friday. It also marked the one-year anniversary of the unveiling of the memorial. It's located in Pleasant View Community Park.
The memorial was built to feature a granite monument and brick pavers engraved with the names of veterans. It was designed to pay tribute to not only local veterans, but others from across the country.
The city was able to create the memorial in just a matter of months.
Those involved in its creation said the local elementary school was a big part of getting the project off the ground.
