One of country music's most famous fiddlers, Charlie Daniels, raised money for student veterans.

Daniels hosted the inaugural Veteran Impact Celebration Thursday night. It benefits Middle Tennessee State University's Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center.

The 'Daniels Center' provides support for more than 900 student veterans who attend MTSU.

The center provides job placement, medical care, and many other services veterans may need.

Daniels says it's a place where veterans can meet with people with similar stories.

"You can always find somebody that understands what you've been through. They've been there. They've done that just like you have. And you can sit down and talk to them," said Daniels.

He said he began working with veterans when he saw that the government wasn't able to provide for all of their needs.
