Cheatham County Mayor David McCullough has passed away after battling cancer for a second time.
His death was confirmed Tuesday afternoon by officials with the mayor’s office.
McCullough was first diagnosed in July 2015 but after surgery and treatment was deemed cancer free until this past February.

The community rallied around him after his cancer returned aggressively.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
