CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A suspect accused of hitting a Cheatham County officer during a pursuit earlier this month now faces felony drug charges.

Investigators said Andrew Timmerman was being taken into custody after a deputy found him in possession of drugs. Timmerman allegedly fought the officer and was able to drive off in the deputy's patrol car.

A pursuit began and continued into Cheatham County, where an officer was hit while trying to deploy spike strips. Police said Timmerman eventually crashed in a ditch in Ashland City.

On Tuesday, police said he now faces four counts of schedule VI drug possession with intent to distribute, unlawful drug paraphernalia, three counts of possession without a prescription, and simple possession.

According to investigators, they searched his vehicle and found 14 pounds of edibles, two pounds of gummies, 18 THC vape pen refills, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, baggies, a scale, and prescription drugs.

His case has been bound over to the grand jury. His bonds remain at $837,500.
