CHEATHAM CO. TENN. (WTVF) — After an day-long investigation, Cheatham County Sheriff's Office deputies found a threat against the high school as not credible.
Cheatham County Sheriff's officers arrived on-site to investigate around 11:30 a.m.
Cheatham County Central High School was on a lockdown, and Cheatham Middle School was under a lockout.
"Late this afternoon, the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office determined that the potential threat was not credible, and a suspect has been identified. Legal charges will be pursued," district spokesperson Tim Adkins said. "As law enforcement investigated the potential threat at CCCHS today, students remained in their classrooms. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office ammunition dog was brought in, and students were searched. Families, we appreciate your patience and understanding. We understand that you want information while the investigation is taking place. Once the Sheriff’s Office takes over the investigation, providing additional information could jeopardize the situation."
CCCHS will be open on its regular schedule March 9.
