A child was taken to a Nashville hospital after being struck by an 18-wheeler while walking to her school bus in Marshall County.
Officials said the 6-year-old was struck while crossing the street near Fayetteville Highway and Adams Road in Belfast, Thursday morning.
They initially said she was struck by a bus but later corrected, saying she was hit by the semi while walking to her bus.
They said other students were likely on board.
Fog was the suspected cause of the crash.
The child was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by ground ambulance - LifeFlight was not an option due to foggy conditions. She was listed in stable condition.
