Local Christmas tree sales skyrocketed at cut-your-own Christmas tree farms over the weekend.

There's no such thing as a perfect Christmas tree, but everyone has a tree that is perfect to them.

Donnie Steed said, "I'll be out here trimming trees and I'll think 'gosh that's the ugliest tree I have ever seen,' and it's the first tree some lady drags to the shaker building and the lady says 'Ooo I just love it!'"

At Circle S Farms, customers love the trees with character and the full ones too.

Steed said, "God built him to be a pine tree and not a Christmas tree I guess."

Over the weekend, Donnie Steed said sales doubled compared to the season opener last year.

Steed said, "It means to me that the economy is good."

An increase in Middle Tennessee's population helps too.

Steed said, "We're growing."

Circle S Farms sold 50 to 60 trees each day this weekend.

Steed said, "It means to me that more people are looking for an experience instead of just a tree."

All their trees cost $7 per foot, and the owner wants to keep it that way.

Steed said, "With everything else escalating in price, we didn't want to... Our overhead has stayed about the same."

The farm has been operated by the same family since 1839. They're hopeful the Christmas tree cut-your-own season will finish strong!

They're open on Saturdays from 9a.m. to 5p.m. and on Sundays from 12 to 5p.m. You can check out their websitehere.
