Mayor Megan Barry along with Councilman and Metro Parks board member Bill Pridemore broke ground on a new Madison Park Community Center

It will serve as a regional community center in Davidson County offering a fully equipped gym, new soccer field playground and programs for every age.

"What its going to do is its going to be a beautiful facility for the community to gather. It's going to be a place where our teens have a place to go and do activities, our seniors are gonna have a place to come and be fit, and its just going to be a place for families," said Mayor Barry.

Construction is expected to take between 12 and 14 months. The existing Madison neighborhood center will remain open until the new regional community center is complete.
