City officials will light the Nashville Christmas tree Friday night at Public Square park.

Performances will include the Fisk Jubilee Singers, the Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church Choir, the Nashville Classical Pop Choir, and the Isaiah T. Creswell Middle School of the Arts.

Local food trucks will also be there for anyone who gets hungry or needs some hot cocoa.

MAscots, Gnash, T-Rac and Booster will make appearances as well as the big man himself, Santa.

City officials asked people attending the lighting to bring a new, unwrapped toy or other age-appropriate gift in the $10–$25 price range for ages newborn to eighteen to donate to the Last Minute Toy Store.

The Mayor’s office partnered with the Davidson County Sheriff's Office to collect toys for the holiday toy drive.
