CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Clarksville boy was struck in the head by a van while attempting to retrieve his ball from under the van Thursday morning.

According to Clarksville police, the 4-year-old boy was carrying a ball while walking toward Summit Heights Court in Summit Heights Housing Complex.

The boy dropped his ball, which then rolled under a van that was on Summit Heights Court.

As the boy tried to retrieve the ball from under the van - which was being driven by a 67-year-old man - the rear tire of the van struck the boy in the head.

Charges are currently undetermined.

Clarksville police say they are currently sorting through conflicting statements about the crash. They only provided known information. This is a developing story.
