CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Clarksville city worker has been killed in a hit-and-run crash.

The incident happened around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside Drive and College Street.

City officials confirmed the worker was on-duty at the time of the collision and he died at the scene.

“It’s a sad day for us at the City of Clarksville,” Mayor Joe Pitts said. “We lost a valued member of our employee family, and someone lost a husband, a son and a father. We all are full of grief today.”

Police said the employee has hit by a tractor-trailer turning from Riverside Drive onto College Street, and did not stop.

The driver involved was found in Beechmont, Kentucky Tuesday night.
