Clarksville Couple Arrested For Craigslist Job Ad Scam

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - A couple was taken into custody after allegedly scamming people who just wanted to earn an honest dollar!

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office arrested the two Friday. They were identified as 23-year-old Jonathan Stults and 23-year-old Briana Staraugh.

Victims claimed the responded to an ad on Craigslist offering a job with good hours and pay. The suspects allegedly told the victims they had to take a special class and pay cash to them up front.

The pair told the victims where the class would be, but it was a false address.

The victims told officials they contacted the two again through the ad to meet up, which was when deputies arrested them.

Stults and Straugh were charged with theft of service and were being held on a $10,000 bond.
