CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Clarskville police officers will begin wearing masks as protection while responding to calls with the public.
Officers will wear cloth face masks as an added safety measure during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We see this as an additional layer of protection for the public,” Police Chief Al Ansley said. “We have to approach people, and we want them to feel comfortable about interacting with our officers.”
On Friday, President Donald Trump said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its recommendation on wearing masks to encourage public use of nonmedical or nonsurgical grade masks as a way to slow the spread of COVID-19.
