Clarksville police search for alleged car thief seen in video surveillance

The Clarksville Police Department is currently searching for an alleged car thief who sped away in a vehicle that was left running and unattended outside of a business at 1361 College Street last week.

The suspected thief was seen on a surveillance camera on Wednesday, November 21 exiting a silver car, possibly a Toyota Matrix, with no hub caps, black rims, and minor body damage. The suspect then entered an unattended vehicle that was left running outside the gas station. These details can be spotted in the surveillance video provided above.

The stolen car is a gold 2001 Toyota CXL with Tennessee tags and plates reading 8A61U3. 

Currently, police are working to identify the unknown suspect or the vehicle that has been associated with the theft.
