Clarksville woman arrested after DUI crash late Wednesday night; Man in critical condition

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Clarksville woman was arrested following a crash in which she was driving under the influence, Clarksville police say. A man involved in the crash is in critical condition.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. at the intersection of Fort Campbell Blvd. and Quin Lane. 38-year-old Arial Hummel was headed south on Fort Campbell Blvd. in a Jeep Wrangler. A 51-year-old man was riding a Victory motorcycle, headed north in the center lane of Fort Campbell Blvd.

Hummel made a left turn onto private property, crossing the path of the oncoming motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the Jeep, launching the rider, who landed on the top of the rear tire and Jeep frame.

The motorcycle rider was transported via LifeFlight to a Nashville hospital. He is currently in critical condition.

Hummel was charged with driving under the influence and taken to the Mongomery County jail on a bond of $1,500. Additional charges are possible.
