A convenience store clerk has been arrested after allegedly firing shots at a customer during an altercation.
The incident happened late Monday night at a Shell gas station on Murfreesboro Pike.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said a verbal altercation turned physical between Odai Ghunim and a customer.
Police said Ghunim pulled out a baseball bat and hit the customer in the arm, while the two exchanged more words.
At that point, Ghunim allegedly pulled out a handgun, at which point there was a struggle over the weapon.
The customer decided to leave the store and that's when police said the clerk fired at him with his eyes closed.
There were two other customers and another clerk inside the store; however, no one was hit or injured by the flying bullets.
It's unclear what provoked the clerk during the incident. The ordeal was captured on surveillance video.
Detectives said Ghunim also hid two shell casings in his pocket and tried to cover a bullet hole in the window. He's been charged with reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence, aggravated assault and vandalism.
