Maren Morris tops list of CMA Awards nominations

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The nominations for the 2019 CMA Awards were announced Wednesday morning.

Maren Morris topped the list with six nominations.

Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban were nominated for Entertainer of the Year.

The nominees for Album of the Year are "Center Point Road" by Thomas Rhett, "Cry Pretty" by Carrie Underwood, "Dan + Shay" by Dan + Shay, "Desperate Man" by Eric Church and "GIRL" by Maren Morris.

Song of the Year nominations include "Beautiful Crazy" written by Luke Combs, Wyatt B. Durrette III, and Robert Williford, "GIRL" written by Maren Morris, Sarah Aarons and Greg Kurstin, "God's Country" written by Devin Dawson, Jordan Schmidt and Michael Hardy, "Rainbow" written by Natalie Hemby, Shane McAnally and Kacey Musgraves and "Tequila" written by Dan Smyers, Nicolle Galyon and Jordan Reynolds.

Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves and Carrie Underwood were nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year. Dierks Bentley, Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban were nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year.

This year's CMA Awards will be hosted by Carrie Underwood with special guest hosts Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton. The 53rd year of the award ceremony will be held at Bridgestone Arena Wednesday, November 13.
