Major impacts to morning rush hour traffic happened after a crash in Franklin.
Reports stated multiple utility poles were badly damaged when a driver fell asleep at the wheel on Columbia Avenue Friday morning.
Police said both Middle Tennessee Electric and AT&T needed to make repairs.
Columbia Avenue was shut down in both directions from Downs Boulevard to Battle Avenue while the repairs were ongoing.
The closure lasted through morning rush hour traffic until around midday, which resulted in congestion.
